PRIMARY SOURCES

For those interested in primary sources regarding this case, I would point you to the Yankton Press and Dakotan, whose coverage was the most in depth. This website is not a primary source. In other words, as I have been saying since 2005, do not take my word for it.

Experts testified. The press reported. Getting as close to the primary source is just proper due diligence.

The Press and Dakotan did not start digital archives until the late 1990s, but microfilm archives can be found in many places, including South Dakota’s government archives, state university archives, and public library archives.

The best date ranges to search are Sept-Oct 1992 (disappearance and initial investigation into Tammy’s death), Sept-Oct 1995 (arraignment), Sept-Oct 1996 (trial). A reporter from the Press and Dakotan was in the courtroom for the entire trial. The newspaper offered detailed daily coverage. Most of the content in this blog comes from that primary source. Citations can be found at the end of most posts.

Again, this website is not a primary source and is not affiliated with any sources cited.

I speak for me and me alone. Nobody else speaks for me.
